To cultivate the tradition of historical Capella Rorantistarum, founded by King Sigismund the Old in 1540 and active for over 300 years in the Wawel Royal Cathedral, Stanisław Gałonski created an ensemble, named The Rorantists (1980 – 2008). They apperard on television across Europe and toured extensively. Nowadays, the idea of cultivatingthe Polish culture heritage has extended to the ensemble being renamed - The Royal Rorantists. The aim of the ensemble, led by Stanisław Gałonski, has featured music on this release that was performed and written for Capella Rorantistarum in the time of Polish renaissance and baroque music.
