Kool & The Gang - Cherish (1984/2017)

Originally a jazz ensemble formed in the mid-1960s, Kool & the Gang became one of the most inspired and influential funk bands of the '70s, and one of the most popular R & B bands of the' 80s. after the release of their flagship hit, "Celebration" in 1979. Just as funky as James Brown or Parliament (and sampled almost as often), Kool & the Gang relies on the jazz formations of its members and their long-standing friendship to form a tightly knit band, with the interaction and improvisation of a jazz band, plus the energy and spark of a group with influences such as soul, R & B, and funk.
