The Boys You Know in 2018: Americana Folk Instead of Guitar Noise & Nostalgia 90s. If you've been following The Boys You Know for some time, then the band is known as the '90s rock combo looking for a comparison with American indie heroes like Pavement or the Lemonheads. In 2017, the band underpinned this impression by accompanying Dinosaur Jr. and the Pixies on tour dates. The Boys You Know break with this style in June's upcoming album "Two Lines That Never Touch," featuring a record on which modern Americana folk meets world music. In the lyrics, the band lets the listener look deeply into their psyche for the first time, so act several pieces on the album of depression, unrequited love, suicide, and the death of someone close to you. The songs were written over two years on Santorini and in Barcelona. Stylistically Neil Young, David Bowie, Bon Iver and Beirut are recognizable as influences. The Boys You Know make significantly less guitar noise on this album than on their previous ones, leaving room for piano, trumpet, and a chorus.
