Sugai Ken - yOrUkOrU (2018)

After the amazing UkabazUmorezU = 不浮不埋 LP on RVNG intl. and his latest release てれんてくだ Tele-N-Tech-Da on Discrepant, the Kanagawa-based artist Sugai Ken returns with an 8-track album, mixing local tradition and contemporary sounds.

As a rough translation of the title says (岩石考 -yOrUkOrU- - Remarks on Rock) and according to the artist’ statement, the protagonists of this work are stones in their different ways and narratives. Like in his previous albums Ken uses a language both oneiric and realistic, shaping an immersive and vivid landscape where the listener can float on.
