DJ Oil - Bref Avenir (2018)

This is the second release in Les Disques De La Mort's Bref Avenir collection by Marseille's Lionel corsini aka DJ Oil, who had a terrific album on BBE a few years back. Label chiefs Leon Oakey and Ivan Smagghe describe him as their 'Southern activist using well-known tropes and samples to provide necessary confusion.' From the trippy funk-funk of "Telegraph" reminiscent of Oliver Ho's Raudive project, the darkly hypnotic late night disco of "Paresse" and the dusty slo-mo (and very lo-slung!) groove of "Fall" which will get the kids trippin' balls in no time!
