Ava Earl - Am I Me Yet? (2018)

Ava Earl is an artist on the rise. At just 15 years old, the prolific young singer-songwriter has gained a loyal following in her home state of Alaska. She has worked extensively over the past three years, performing at music festivals, listening room shows, and popular music venues. Spanning acoustic, Americana, and folk genres, her introspective, often haunting, melodies draw listeners in, inviting them to find a place in her songs.

On July 27, Ava released, “Am I Me Yet?” her third full-length studio album. The collection of 15 songs features Ava on guitar and vocals, Andy Mullen on classical guitar, and Anna Tivel on violin. The music was recorded at The Hallowed Halls in Portland, Oregon, and was engineered by Hawkins Wright who also co-produced the album with Ava. It is her second album in two years with the same collaborators and builds on her strength in musicianship and performance.

The new work comes after a big year for Ava. In addition to releasing her well-received self-titled album in May 2017, she played a number of high-profile events, including the main stage at Salmonfest, where she met another Alaska-raised musician, headliner Jewel. In November, Ava played to her largest audience yet, opening for Maggie Rogers. It was an especially sweet moment for Ava, as she was selected by Maggie personally for the performance from an open call on social media.

Ava will be supporting her new release with a series of Alaska-based performances this summer. In the fall, she looks forward to expanding her reach Outside with a short tour in the Pacific Northwest.
