Ex Vitae were a jazz group from Limoges that created their only album in 1978. Ex Vitae are at the peak of the French jazzy progressive rock genre, recalling such luminaries as Moving Gelatine Plates and Ma Banlieue Flasque. Right from the start Ex Vitae's 1978 offering MANDARINE has an air of the chamber-prog and RIO style about it, that is except for the other elements at play, along with jazzy touches, there's all sorts of things in their instrumental blend, notably the synth, sax, clarinet, violin.
