Wandering Path is the first song that came from the idea that music could work with a therapy called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.) EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to open up neurological pathways as part of a process that helps neutralize the emotional pain caused by traumatic memories.
The first Bilateral Music album, released in 2013, has now been heard and used by thousands of therapists and clients globally.
The album contains nine songs, for a total of an hour of gentle, peaceful music.
The sounds are made with acoustic guitars, wind instruments, sustained keyboard pads, and light percussion, mixed with nature sounds like water and wind.
The album Wandering Path contains the same nine songs presented in their non-bilateral form, i.e. standard stereo, rather than moving slowly back and forth between the left and right sides.
