I personally like playing with musicians who I have a connection with on and off the band stand. For this recording this statement is true. Derrick Gardner trumpeter, Dupor Georges trombonist and I have been playing together in various groups since the early 1990’s. Derrick and Dupor recorded with me on my debut CD A New Journey on Candid records and my second CD Brooklyn on Evidence records. Whereas the rest of the group for this recording I have a connection with through my teaching and playing gigs in Cincinnati Ohio. Pianist, Dan Karlsberg and William Menefield,trombonist Zac Granger, trumpeter Eric Lechliter , drummer Anthony Lee, bassist Aaron Jacob and percussionist Josh Strange are some of Ohio’s finest jazz musicians. I am honored to have collaborated with them on this recording. I have selected each one of these musicians to carefully enhance my musical statement on this recording. My goal is create a mood from the beginning to the end of my CD.I have purposely written and selected each song on this recording to give my listeners a variety of great music to enjoy. There is something on this CD for everyone.
