NoSax NoClar - Twofold (2026)

The duo NoSax NoClar released their fourth album, Twofold, in 2025, showcasing their virtuoso skill at engaging in improvised jazz dialogue. Musicians Julien Stella and Bastien Weeger use clarinets and saxophones to create intricate musical soundscapes inspired by non-Western musical traditions and classic bebop. The project offers a varied repertoire developed during an artistic residency in Finland and drawing on the group’s experience touring the world. Throughout the album, the duo explores rhythmic, almost trance-like states, moving from intricate contrapuntal melodies to distinctive percussion arrangements. Twofold features standout tracks such as “Valse Rouge” and the vocal-led “Am Iridaï,” cementing the duo’s unique style after six years of working together.
