Pianist and composer Aaron Goldberg is an adept jazz musician, blessed with a harmonically advanced aesthetic palette and a bent toward thoughtful modern creative improvisation. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1974, Goldberg started playing piano around age 12 and gained early experience studying in high school with such luminaries as Bob Sinicrope and Jerry Bergonzi. Initially, Goldberg studied at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music before enrolling at Harvard, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1996. Since leaving Harvard, Goldberg has performed and recorded with a bevy of hard-hitting artists including guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, saxophonist Joshua Redman, and vocalist Madeleine Peyroux, as well as Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. As a leader, he debuted with Turning Point (1999), followed by Unfolding (2001), Worlds (2006), and Home (2010). In 2015, Goldberg released his fifth studio album, The Now, which showcased his trio featuring bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Eric Harland.
