The Austrian band, Opus, had emerged in the early 1980s, breaking onto the US music scene with their single, "Live is Life" in 1984. Although they did not appeal to the American public in large numbers, they did manage to establish a devoted fan base who continued to follow their career which continues today. I am one of those few American fans. Straddling the pop/rock borderline with catchy, well-written and well-played compositions, Opus is a highly talented band that was continually denied the American media attention they so richly deserved. Listen to the environmentally-sensitive tunes "Whiteland" or "Every Now and Then" and understand that they were well ahead of their time in progressive lyric construction. Original line-up included: Ewald Pfleger, Herwig Rudisser, Gunter Grasmuck, Niki Gruber, and Kurt-Rene Plisnier. Purchase this album and re-discover a "lost" band with superb talent and great music, hence their name, OPUS.
