Charlie Musselwhite and The Dynatones - Live: Curtain Call Cocktails (1998)

After several years without a new record, this confusing item appeared -- in hindsight, looking like a scam to launch Charlie's backup band into a career of its own. Musselwhite gets second billing, even though he sings five of the seven vocal tunes -- the lone instrumental being a so-so version of his by-now signature piece "Cristo Redentor" -- and the crowd that came to this live gig no doubt didn't see "Dynatones" on the marquee. Confusing. But around this itme that had become the norm in Charlie's recording career.
