Infamous American rock band who had a lot of troubles due to alcohol. Their early music (Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash and Stink EP) was influenced by American hardcore (like their contemporaries Husker Du) with later albums slowing down tempo. They broke up in 1991 due to internal tensions in the band. Bob Stinson was fired from the band and died from drug overdose in 1995. In 2006, the surviving members (without the original drummer Chris Mars) gathered together and recorded some new tracks for a compilation of Replacements best work. On October 3, 2012, it was announced that The Replacements were active again.
