Decent 1997 tribute album to Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps featuring various California retro rockers, original '50s rockers and actual surviving Blue Caps alumni on some tracks. Johnny Carroll's "Black Leather Rebel" sets the mood nicely, and while some of the tracks on here are more echo and enthusiasm than actual musical ability, that's really half the point, isn't it? A tribute album that's truly wailed from the heart to one of the underrated rockers of the '50s.
