Freedom and Whiskey is from Louisville, Kentucky. The style of music is a mix of Classic / Modern / Southern rock and Blues.

The current band line-up is:
Mike Huettig (formerly with "Days of The New") / Drums and Backing vocals, Bill Goins / Bass guitar and Vocals, Chuck Mingis (formerly with "Days of The New") / Guitar and Backing Vocals, and Mark Hoekstra / Vocals and Harmonica, (formerly with “The Legendary Blues Band (Muddy Waters)”, “Homesick James Williamson” and “Walter Horton”).

Bill and Mike wrote and produced most of Freedom and Whiskey's material on their first album and had long time friend, Griffin Torrance playing bass on some of the studio tracks. Tina Goins received writing credits for her contributions on the songs, "KettleBottom Blues", and "The Stranger". Griffin received writing credit for the song "You and I".
The album also includes other musicians such as Todd Smith / (piano and keys), Rob Edwards / (percussion), Debbra Belt and Joyce Green / (backing vocals).
