Bas Noir - Ah...Bas Noir (1992/2018)

At first listen, you might think this pair may be considered the new American counterpart to the British duo, Mel and Kim. The songs on this album are club-oriented and sound like something you already heard in recent years. Pulling out all the stops to the definition of house music, "Ah...Bas Noir" is full of tinkling piano keys in the lower register, automated hand-claps, digital drum rolls, and percussive cymbal loops. The vocals on some of the tracks lack originality as they mirror the style of another dance diva by the name of Crystal Waters.

"Superficial Love" is a danceable track with a new jack groove. Unfortunately, it's also the only commercial single release from the album and the only consolation to a hit song. "Addicted 2 Luv" and "Shoe-B-Doo" would make possible follow-ups, but only for club consumption.
