Flavia Dantas - Bossa Nova (2018) [Hi-Res]

Flávia Dantas is a singer and a songwriter. She has this sweet and beautiful voice that pleases
everybody everywhere. She released her first CD in 2012 (only with her own songs), which has a
very Brazilian sonority, full of bossa and swing: music to hear and to dance. In addition to her authorial work, she sings the traditional repertoire of Bossa Nova and Samba, in many formations such as voice and guitar duet; quintet with voice, guitar, bass, drums and saxophones. Flávia also sings in a popular orchestra: The Carioca Orchestra of Samba. Her main references are Nara Leão, Joao Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, João Donato, Dorival Caymmi, etc.

The Carioca Orchestra of Samba unites traditional samba instruments such as guitar, cavaquinho and tambourine to a small horn section, typical formation of Big Band Jazz, always favoring a Brazilian sound. In its repertoire, there are songs and instrumental pieces of important composers such as Assis Valente, Noel Rosa, Ary Barroso, Dorival Caymmi, Chico Buarque, Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, and also compositions of news composers like Edu Krieger, Jacobina Rubens and others.

Flávia's project in the present is the tribute to the singer Nara Leão, the muse of Bossa Nova.

Flávia have been singing since 2014 at “Beco das Garrafas”, the place of birth of Bossa Nova. She is one of the subjects in the movement of revitalization of the Bossa Nova Culture in Rio de Janeiro.

Flávia Dantas has sung in several places such as Solar de Botafogo Theater, Sala Baden Powell, Sesi Theater, Café Pequeno Theater, Vizta, Horse's Neck, Bottle's Bar, Centro Cultural Carioca, Rio scenarium, Democráticos, Modern Sound, Comuna do Semente, Sacrilégio, Colher de Pau, Furnas, Severina, many Clubs, etc.
