Rick Gibson Band - Ozark Anthology (2014)

Born and raised in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, Rick is now a transplant in Kansas City. As a guitarist/songwriter he is a Americana roots and blues artist with many influences. For years he has worked with a variety of artists performing R&B, smooth jazz, fusion, blues and gospel. In late 2012 Rick released his first all original blues CD "Plain and Simple" to high acclaim. The freshman project was a semi-finalist in the International Blues Best CD competition, and was complimented by Rick reaching the finals of the Kansas City IBC best band competition in 2013. OZARK ANTHOLOGY, the sophomore project is a musical journey into old style, Ozark dirt blues rock. It is a musical style birthed from growing up in southern Missouri and the regional sub-cultures of southern hill folk. "With OZARK ANTHOLOGY I am blending old styles with new retro sounds to produce songs which tell stories with an organic.
