D'Nell - 1st Magic (2005)

Dnell is producer Dan Jones and singer Ellie Hajee. 1st Magic is their first full length, recorded entirely in the confines of their studio apartment in London UK. Such endeavors are usually relegated to house and techno producers, but DNell have created a spacious and soulful offering perfect for BBEs brand of real music intended for real folks.

1st Magic focuses Dnells interest in fusing the rough with the smooth. By combining Dans grainy production, Hip Hop beats and an obsession with obscure equipment and records with Ellies distinct soulful vocal and biographical lyrics, Dnell have bought us an insight into the bedroom in which they live and record, whether its making beats or making love.
