The group “Graphite” was formed in the late 60s by students of the University in the city of Reading (Berkshire County). The core of the team was vocalist Keith Allen, keyboard player Chris Gore and guitarist David Hook, and the rhythm section was constantly changing. In their free time, the guys composed songs and played a lot, playing melodic, soft progressive rock with an emphasis on keyboards. In August 1971, the group performed at the Truro Festival of Contemporary Music (Cornwall County) along with Queen. Recording for several years at various studios, Graphite released just two singles in 1972 and 1974. The album never came out, which is very strange, given the high professional level of the group. In 1996, the enthusiasts of the studio “Audio Archives” collected material from different years and published a CD with 16 tracks.
