Rebecca Dressler - Downplay (2018)

This EP was one of the hardest things I've ever pushed myself to do in my life. I wrote all the lyrics, produced everything, recorded and sang... and through it all, I was my own worst enemy. I told myself many times I would not finish this. Yet here I am, with a finished product. No, it's not perfect, but it's honest and real. There is not a single song on this EP that does not come from an honest place in my heart. I searched the depths of my soul for these lyrics. I have experienced and lived through everything on this album. I cried many tears and worked my ass off to get here. Thanks for being here with me!

I decided to title the EP "Downplay" because it means: "to make something appear less important than it really is." I do this every day... with my feelings, my emotions, my thoughts, my worries, my fears... I think by turning those things into a song, I am (in a way) downplaying these feelings I once had (or still do). But nonetheless, it feels good to get them off of my chest. I hope my listeners can relate to these songs, and get those bad feelings off their chests too.
