Of her performances of the traditional repertory, she has been noted for her lyrical, expressive, powerful, and formidable pianism. Caroline Hong earned her D.M. from Indiana University, M.M. from the Juilliard School in New York, and a B.M. from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She is active internationally as a recitalist, masterclass teacher, and adjudicator.
