Tomasz Stanko is a musician who does not need to be portrayed by a music lover, regardless of genre preferences. It is a trumpeter that has won the hearts of both Polish and international public, from nearly five decades of glossy to free jazz sky. His romance with jazz began in 1962, when he founded with Adam Makowiczem Jazz Darings, which music historians call the first European team free jazz. A year later, he was invited by Krzysztof Komeda to the quintet, with which he created for five years. In 1968 he created his own band, which for forty years of its existence has collaborated with many Russian and foreign musicians.
The publishing house that shows contains five zremasterowanych plates from the period from 1970 to 1987. The plates were specially prepared - fully digitally processed and remastered in full cooperation with the artist. The oldest of them is "Music for K", released in 1970, and it was she who established Stańki's position as the leader of the first international League. It is the author's debut of tanks, as well as his most crazy, fiery and passionate album, which ranges within Free Jazz. In the seventies, the primary importance for Thomas Stańki was the collaboration with Edward Vesalą – the Finnish drummer and with him and with Warren and Szukalskim created the disc "Twet", which is a study of the idiom freejazzowej ballads, inspired by the hard sound of the trumpet. "Twet", considered by some to be one of the best disk Stańki, is definitely a skill in building space and tension. The eighties for the artist-it is primarily a variety of methods of searching for improvisation, it's different places, and many musicians with whom he created. First Studio album, which he entered, was "Music 81", recorded in 1982 with the First Kulpowicz, Witold CARICOM and Czeslaw Bartkowski. We find it rough melancholy, complemented by an interesting, połamaną section rhythmic Bartowski. Another item in the box is ” Lady Go", an album from 1986 created together with Antimos Apostolis Witold Rat and Thomas tribute. The record is less recognized and popular, but certainly deserves attention and opening it again. All this exclusive edition completes the concert album "Switzerland", recorded on July 14, 1987 during the Montreaux Jazz festival in Switzerland. It is a concert that demonstrates the passion for electronic sounds of the machine, a disc that is ahead of its time and is a harbinger of trends in music that had only come. This album is a great closing and summing bracket that represents a journey through nearly twenty years of Thomas Stanky's work.
Despite the years, albums such as" Lady "or" Music for K " are still relevant and extraordinary, amazing for its simplicity and freshness. Tomasz Stanko is a combination of classic with modernity, this is the man who contributed to the development of culture and art of jazz in Europe. The publishing house is dedicated to both music lovers and those who are experiencing their passion for jazz recently.
