This ten-song compilation presents seven songs by Harry James and His Orchestra and three by Benny Goodman and His Orchestra on which Dick Haymes was the featured vocalist in the early 1940s. Included are such chart entries as "A Sinner Kissed An Angel" and "Idaho," as well as Haymes treatments of standards such as "Ol' Man River" and "I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo," and though he is but part of the arrangements, he acquits himself with his usual assurance. The omission of the #1 hit "I'll Get By (As Long As I Have You)" is curious, but any release of Haymes's early work, even on a budget-priced "special products" album, is welcome.~William Ruhlmann

Many thanks for lossless.
