Think Tank was organized in 1972 by Jacques Zvart, until 1967, lead vocalist Het, and later bass guitarist for the bands Penny Wise and Bled. Zvart drew quite a few good musicians to work together - guitarist Van de Kreft collaborated with Blue Planet, Jansen was a member of JayJays, and de Graaf drumming in Bled. In the same year 72, Think Tank released an album on Pink Elephant label containing compositions in which the influence of Todd Rundgren and Steely Dan was clearly felt. However, the album, and the accompanying single Together / Hold my hand, as well as the next two singles did not have commercial success. In early 1973, Zwart dissolved Think Tank and moved to the Amsterdam band as a producer, bassist and vocalist.
