Wojciech Lichtański Questions - Iga (2019)

Wojciech Lichtański does not need to be introduced to anyone who is interested in the young Polish jazz scene. Born in 1989, the saxophonist has a number of successes and distinctions. It is worth mentioning the Grand Prix and the "Individuality of Jazz" award from the Vehemence Quartet at the 51st Jazz nad Odrą or Grand Prix and the "Jazz Angel" at the 15th Lotos Jazz Festival Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa.

Dozens of concerts in Poland and abroad as well as time spent alongside many great musicians (including David Dorzek, Jorge Vistel, and Ed Partyka) paid off with experience, but also with the need for independence and the implementation of their own, fully original ideas. Already on the album "Live!" From 2013 (recorded with the first quartet of Sound Lab), Lichtański became known as a born leader and a great composer, but it is "Iga" which is a disc on which he shows what he can really do. Multidimensionality, maturity and noble sound are the main features of the compositional style of the leader who, with a sense of intimacy, builds tension, cares for the development of the action, but also consistently realizes his vision.
