The Vincent Eberle Quintet, consisting of Vincent Eberle (trumpet, flugel), Paul Brändle (guitar), Leo Betzl (piano), Maximilian Hirning (double bass) and Sebastian Wolfgruber (drums), was founded in 2014 when all of the members studied at the Jazz Department of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. By now this ensemble is performing regularly and is a significant part of the south german jazz scene.
Their repertoire contains Jazz-Standards, like Tenderly, as well as original compositions.
Together the musicians want to create a modern sound, which does not fear a connection to tradtion.
In december 2016 the quintet presented their debut album Holding. Shortly thereafter they won the LAG-Jazzprize, which is a full organized tour through bavaria and could present their music to a bigger audience.
In spring of 2018 the band won the New German Jazz Award 2018 which is the most paid prize for professional jazzbands in Germany. Now the band presents their recent album “Equilibrium”.
