Sergi Sirvent - Free Quartet (2003)

After the recording of "9 Muses" and the second album of Unexpected, Sergi Sirvent arranged this session with Joe Smith, which he had seen playing with another drummer in his own projects and music. He had some tunes that had no more structure than a melody and he wanted to try and investigate more in hearing the chords rather than writing them down. He decided to record some open improvisations and some Ornette Coleman's melodies for the feeling of freedom he brought to the whole band and his vision of music.
