The singer here is actually Catherine Russell, a black vocalist.
She was experienced in doing lead vocals for various albums and the record company preferred she do this for O'Malleys two albums, but decided to give O'Malley the actual credit as if _she_ was the leading vocalist.
This was not the first time or the last that such an outrage would occur in the music industry, but it obviously stinks terribly and O'Malley has justifiably kept a distance from the music business and even the public spotlight since the early 1980's because of it.
There are only two performances she made of these songs by herself that I'm aware of - one live and another on a radio station, both in her residential area (more or less) in Pennsylvania. I hope someone will manage one day to get a hold of the recording from that radio station and upload it to the public domain.
