The present CD comprises a selection from the popular literature of romantic cello miniatures, the concept slightly extended to also include into this imaginary club Kodály and Rachmaninov. It is interesting to note that the order of the pieces constitutes a kind of “bridge- form”. Schumann’s works represent the opening and concluding items. Proceeding inwards pieces by Fauré can be heard. At the rising and falling arch a work each by Kodály can be found. Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns and Rachmaninov occupy the middle. Gergely Devich was third-prize winner of the Eurovision Young Musicians 2014.
