This 10-song LP contains the seven Top 10 hits scored by Tommy James & The Shondells between 1966 and 1969: "Hanky Panky" (a gold-selling #1); "I Think We're Alone Now," "Mirage," "Mony Mony," "Crimson And Clover" (another #1), "Sweet Cherry Wine," and "Crystal Blue Persuasion." Also included are The Shondells' current single in the fall of 1969, "Ball Of Fire," and two non-hits. The set was well-timed--the Shondells did not score a major hit again, and James went solo the following year. So, this album served as the definitive Tommy James & The Shondells compilation until it was superseded by Rhino's Anthology (70920) 21 years later.
