Corentin Rio is part of the rising generation, as we usually say. We had met here and there this drummer freshly thirty. With In the middle of things and a formation identified under the term "Orpheon", it comes in the big leagues, and it is very happy because this album is delicious. There is a lot of elegance, chic, sensitivity. All seven tracks are superbly licked. The tessitura, the melodies - which are queen here - the chorus - as evidenced for example by Romain Cuoq and Leonardo Montana on "Suddenly, yesterday" - everything is exquisite.
The icing on the cake, the album is both eclectic and homogeneous. Eclectic because between "Does the Moon Also Fall" dominates the voice - superb for the rest - Ellinoa as well as Leonardo Montana's Fender Rhodes and "Dear Clara Freud" which ends the album in a melancholy, almost dark, there has a big gap. And yet, a red thread leads us from one end to the other of this beautiful record. Difficult to define but it undeniably has to do with delicacy.
