Jan Menu - Dutch Songbook (2019)

Almost everyone knows the American Songbook, a collection of popular American songs that is a great inspiration for jazz musicians worldwide. As jazz musicians with a great love for the Good Dutch Song, Jan Menu and Jasper Soffers asked themselves: what about the Dutch classics? Are there any quality songs that have the potential to become a jazz standard? They then plunged into the archive, with the result: their own "Dutch Songbook". From, among other things, a loosened "Margootje", via "De Twips" in slow motion, to a meditative "The last miracle of Spinvis."
