An album that wears a certain amount of eclecticism as a badge of honor while managing to be gently enjoyable and comfortable. Opafire is Norman Engelleitner's outfit, and the basic idea behind it is to incorporate whatever elements seem to be appropriate for the music. The result is a fusion of so-called adult contemporary with a variety of world music elements that range from hints of reggae to suggestions of Brazil and India. Ricochet Sun is a relaxing set, one of those albums to have playing in the background during any of a variety of tasks. It won't set the world on fire, but it does brighten it up a little.
