Probably one of the best Albums of the late 20th century showcasing the work of the UK's master lyricist. From the blistering, bitter, emotionally intense opening track"Need"through to the Indian tom-tom like drumming of" A Kind of Loathing" on to a haunting little ditty of family life("Sick Little Minds") this album seethes!". While dross like The Killers and Kasabian fill the "indie" airwaves King Blank sound totally subversive and dirty. Real honest rock music criminally over looked and still unavailable on CD. I think not playing Glastonbury is a badge of honour....I mean, Shirley Bassey? Its not Eurovision! Search out King Blank! The Real Dirt, or this second album where the band were re-named The Ian Lowery Group.
