Biography
MERU brings together instruments from various eras and ethnicities in a project of world and ambient music with multicultural characteristics.

An imaginary and timeless journey, created by instruments that manifest, through the musicians, the sound from different cultures, traditions and musical styles, in a voyage around the world, From Africa To Asia, Oceania and the Americas, always with Portugal as the base home and inspiration.

Featuring the Sitar, the traditional Indian instrument, the Portuguese Guitar from the Fado tradicional national song, the nGoni, stringed harp from West Africa, the Didgeridoo from Australian Aboriginal origins (oldest wind instrument of Humanity) and the Handpan, an harmonic percussion instrument created in the XXI century with current metallurgical techniques and also several traditional percussion instruments like the Djembé, Calabassa, Adufe (portuguses framedrum), cymbals and rainsticks.
