Recorded at Shinjuku Kohseinenkin Hall in Tokyo, Japan in January of 1975, this live concert recording features Miles Davis and his electric ensemble in concert. Recorded a month before his studio albums Pangaea and Agharta, here Davis is backed by the group featured on those albums, including saxophonist Sonny Fortune, guitarists Pete Cosey and Reggie Lucas, bassist Michael Henderson, drummer Al Foster, and percussionist James Mtume. This is frenetic, acid-soaked funk- and rock-influenced jazz from the heart of Davis' fusion period. -- Matt Collar
