I-Level - I-Level (1983) [Vinyl]

Original 1980's British Funk/Dance band known for their underground UK club hits 'Minefield' and 'Give Me' (under license to US label Epic, 'Give Me' reached number 5 in the R 'n' B charts) along with rare groove classic 'In The Sand and dub remix 'In The River'.

Joe first met Sam Jones at Music Works, Holloway Road Studio, where he worked as an Engineer. At the time Sam was a member of the band ‘BRIMSTONE’ and later they went on to form iLevel with Duncan Bridgeman.

They signed to Richard Branson’s Virgin Records in 1982 and released 2 albums and 7 singles. They were awarded ‘most promising newcomers’ by the readers of then influential music magazine ‘Blues & Soul’ in 1982. Over the years ‘Give Me’ has been sampled by SANDY KERR ‘Thug Rock’ 1982 , LOST BOYZ ‘So Love’ 1997 and A TRIBE CALLED QUEST ‘Give Me (featuring Noreaga)’ in 1998 and various others plus released on album compilation 'Methods of Dance'.

In the mid-eighties iLevel disbanded however all 3 band members never stopped making music and working with other artists & musicians from all over the globe.
