New 2CD remastered digipak of one of the great live albums of the 70s. Jane was a bit of an acquired taste. More hard rock than space rock, the band's achilles heel was always the vocals of guitarist Klaus Hess. He was average at best with an accent to match. The band hit its stride in the mid-70s with the arrival of keyboardist Manfred Wiezorcke , who had split from Eloy. His characteristic spacey sound was an immediate infusion of creativity that the band was lacking early on. Live At Home was the first album to actually feature Wiezorcke and its a killer to boot. Its what a live album should be - a document of a selection of a cross selection of the band's material. In this case it was enhanced by the 19 minute "Windows" which doesn't exist as a studio track. Wiezorcke brought a more progressive element to the band's hard rock sound taking them more in the direction that Eloy was travelling. Many years ago this was released as a single disc with the track "Daytime" excised to make it fit. This remastered edition arrives as a complete 2CD set. As a bonus you get a previously unreleased radio broadcast of a gig recorded by WDR radio on their subsequent 1977 tour. It arrives in a beautiful digipak. This is the right way to do a reissue. Highly recommended. - Lacer CD.
