In 1989 two extroverted musicians formed together and still exist in a unique formation. Marco is the lead singer of the band who also plays guitar and Heiko, on drums and also sings. The individuality of the band makes it difficult to describe their style of music – let’s just say it’s Rock ’n’ Roll with the effects of Psychobilly, Surf, Rockabilly and Punk. The band’s debut album, a 10” LP “Evil Eyes” was released in 1995 by Crazy Love Records. In 1996 followed the LP “Fear Will Freeze You…” also on Crazy Love Records. Over the years they’ve experienced a lot on stage where they have a hand in fascinating the masses with their great show on stage. The band has shared the stage with famous Rock ’n’ Roll bands around the world from Calella, Spain to Lahti, Finland from Warsaw, Poland to Londrina, Brazil. In 1999 the band presented the “Suicide City” EP by the Japanese label “On the Hill Records”. Their latest release “Tonight?!” was co-produced by “Haryboobooana Records” and “Streetmusic Berlin”. Over the years, the guys have grown up and the evolution of the music’s sound and technique has gotten more brilliant & exciting. The lyrics are spiked with their experiences made though the years – a melancholy and rough sound indeed. Through the history of Damage Done By Worms a lot of bass players took part of it. The first one on double bass was Rico. He started his career in this band 1989 and worked hard on the genuine Damage Done By Worms style. Today he’s got his own band and is doing psychobilly as well. In 1993 a new bass player called Maggi joined the band and helped the band to become more famous. With him Damage Done By Worms climbed to the next level. The releases of the four albums were during this time. Maggi left the band in 2001 and P-Man took bass players place like he never did anything else. The fans liked him very much ‘cause the very tall always smiling guy brought his happiness about bass playing on stage, and from stage into every wrecking pit. But he wanted to leave Germany for a while to go to California and so he left Damage Done By Worms. These large footsteps we tried to fill with Jason, an American who has lived in Berlin. He was a fan of the band a long time ago so they found together and had a very good time with a lot of gigs around the world. In April 2010 he left the band. This was the beginning of a six month drought for Heiko and Marco. A long and hard search began to find a new member for the worm family to complete the old trio. At least they found Mr. Holly Burnette known from great bands like “Mad Sin” and “Dusty Gray and his Rhythm Shots”. His unique style on double bass shows his true love for Rock’n’Roll music from good old swing to psychobilly. This new formation is now starting through to find their satisfaction in psychobilly again …
Damage Done by Worms – a band which has never forgotten it’s mission… Rock ’n’ Roll
