Komlava - Fall (2019)

Komlava’s first release consists of music made for the site specific performance “Fall” in co-operation with choreographer Hammervold-Austinat and Munchmuseet on the Move. “Fall” took place in a skatepark in Oslo’s old town. The compositions contains field recordings Komlava tracked in this enviroment and in Berlin; skating, graffiti art and traffic, alongside recordings from the motorbike workshop in the skatepark. These sounds became the synthesizers and drum machines you hear, and draws upon references to folktronica. Komlava, aka, Åse Ava Fredheim, composes music for modern dance. She creates an extensive universe which contains stress, unease and anxiety, as well as the peaceful, passionate, yearning and playful. Music has power over our bodies, but this goes both ways. These pieces have been created in close collaboration with choreographer and dancers.
