Thrace, the place of Greek god Dionysus, has rich musical traditions fermented through thousands of years of its existence. The Rodopi mountains are a road between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey where cultural borders blur into a multi-coloured mosaic of sounds. Clarinet, violin, kanun (Middle-Eastern zither), lute, toubeleki (Greek drum) and vocals are presented in this stunning album steeped in history.
