Canada's beloved icon Stompin' Tom Connors releases his 51st studio album The Roads of Life is Tom's most personal album, a musical reflection that includes songs about life, home, travel and of course his beloved Canada! The album features 17 newly recorded tracks that includes originals, adaptations, instrumentals and cover songs from the likes of Wilf Carter (Rattlin' Cannonball) , Hank Snow (My Nova Scotia Home) & other beloved country legend balladeers. Of the newly penned soon-to-be-classic songs, "The Flander's Field Song", is a very caring tribute to the fallen heroes of war, while the upbeat "Pie in The Sky" is a very catch phrase tale about love! Also included are two instrumental tracks, which Tom has never before recorded on album; "Skinner's Pond Jig" and "San Antonio Rose", and on both of these, Tom shows off his guitar picking prowess which many fans have heard in his live performances but has not been captured on album until now. Of the traditional Canadian folkloric favorites that Tom has re-arranged such as ‘Tiny Red Light", "The Pirate's Lament (AKA: A Prison Song) and that tale of "The Men With Broken Hearts', are all telling stories that fit in nicely to complete this album, well titled, The Roads of Life.
