This jazz formation brings together one of the most active musicians of the austrian and european Jazz-scene: WORRY LATER with Oliver Kent (p), Uli Langthaler (b), Dusan Novakov (d), Daniel Nösig (tp) and Thomas Kugi (ts) unites one of the best soloists.
In June 2013 Uli Langthaler and Oliver Kent got the chance to play a regular session opener at the charming litte Jazz-Club called `Zwe` in the City center of Vienna. Drummer Dusan Novakov and two of Austria’s best horn players, Thomas Kugi on tenorsaxophone and Daniel Nösig trumpet joined in. The quintet (named after the Thelonius Monk composition Worry Later ) took advantage of the opportunity and was able to develop their music by performing in front of a great audience of jazz enthusiasts and other musicians.
Club owner Helmut `Zwe´ Rainer states:
`Musical friendships develop out of a conglomerate collective of musicians. Because of their common notion of Jazz dialectic these gentlemen create a feeling of harmony in the audience. Having played together for years they found a name that not only has some relevance in Jazz history , but also an appealing message. In countless sessions these five gentlemen have proven, that they do not only measure up, but often exceed our expectations. Look forward to: Jazz, Jazz, Jazz´
The repertory of this ensemble is mostly compiled by original compositions of themselves, which provide the basis for their outstanding personal statements and unique expressions in contemporary european Jazz music.
All together, this musicians, present a unique program and impress not only with their solistic highlights but also with the distinctive sound in this Jazz-formation.
After long term engagements in all viennese Jazzclubs WORRY LATER is one of the most well-rehearsed groups and present themselves as an euphonic ensemble. Not only in their hometown they attract large audiences and have a continuing influence on contemporary jazz musicians.
WORRY LATER have played at jazz festivals throughout Europe as well as at International Jazz Festivals in the USA, Cuba, Israel, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, Mongolia, Mexico, Tunesia, Ukraine, India, Nepal and South-Africa.
Everybody, who is into Jazz will love this band!
