ALBUM DESCRIPTION
The driving force behind this EP is "Mr. DJ," a dark downtempo hip-hop track flowing with a relaxed vibe. The track isn't anything that new for the group, as much of their material explores this same territory where hip-hop moves into dreamy, hallucinogenic territory. There are two vocal versions of "Mr. DJ" -- an uncensored version and a radio edit -- that feature Fabian on the mic, along with an instrumental version. In addition, there are two additional tracks here, "Mr. Chombee Has the Flow" and "40 Winks (No Sleep Vandim! Mix)," with the former acting as an up-tempo DJ Shadow-like track highlighted by dense percussion and with the latter being a DJ Vandim remix chugging along at a yawn-inducing pace. Overall, this EP includes some nice music but just doesn't measure up to the diverse scope of the Herbaliser's full-length albums. ~ Jason Birchmeier
