Neil Athale - Gloves Off (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2020)

Neil Athale is a renowned film composer, songwriter and producer. He has composed highly acclaimed scores for award winning, internationally released feature films; he has composed music for the advertising campaigns of some of the biggest companies in the world and his songs have featured on multi platinum albums in many countries.

Neil’s breakthrough as a feature composer came when he scored the much vaunted, multi award nominated ‘The Rise’ (released internationally as ‘Wasteland’). Starring Timothy Spall, Vanessa Kirby and Iwan Rheon, the film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where it was the breakout hit. Following this, Neil scored the British drama ‘North Vs South’ and hit comedy drama ‘Golden Years’. Both films gaining cinema releases, with ‘Golden Years’ playing in over 200 UK screens.

In the last year Neil has scored sports comedy feature ‘Gloves Off’, staring Ricky Tomlinson & Alan Ford.

Neil has recently completed the score to ‘Strange But True’, a noir thriller Produced by La La Land’s Fred Berger. The film starts Oscar/Emmy nominees Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, Brian Cox and rising stars Nick Robbinson and Margret Qualley. The film received a theatrical release around the world through Lionsgate/Vertigo.

In advertising Neil specialises in working with major label artists and brands. He has produced global TV commercials for Budweiser (feat. Cloves), Samsung (feat. Paloma Faith), NHS (feat. George the Poet) and Mcarthurglen (feat. Norma Jean Martine).

As a songwriter Neil has written songs selling millions of copies worldwide. In June 2019, Neil had a song released by K-Pop superstars Red Velvet that topped the iTunes album charts in 28 different countries around the world, including the US.

Neil is originally from Yorkshire and now based in London.
