Los Marvelitos - Frontera Norte (2019)

Los Marvelitos present cumbias de Montana-- original and traditional songs from south of the northern border. Riding high on the wave of new folk sounds, this Helena based ensemble draws from the far-reaching roots of its colorful characters. The resulting style combines borderland ballads and tropical cumbias with soulful surf and pirate jazz.

Los Marvelitos feature local favorites John Dendy on upright bass and Greg Hayes on guitar, with Justin Ringsak on mandolin and trumpet, and Garrett Smith on bajo quinto. Percussion and backup vocals by Claire Pichette and Erin Smith. With a hint of hypnosis, Los Marvelitos create the atmosphere of a clandestine party found far from the Big Sky, but still close to home.
