Cuby & The Blizzards - Desolation (1966/2020)

By the time of their first LP, the group were already sliding toward a straighter blues outlook than had been explored on their more R&B/pop-flavored early singles. For that reason, it might disappoint mid-'60s beat fans looking for something wilder and catchier. As a blues group they were competent, but the execution here is kind of lugubrious, and not up to the level of the best British blues acts with a similar repertoire.
