Greg Johnson Big Band - Visions of Kansas City (2020)

The chasmic array of identities in which composer/arranger/saxophonist/teacher Greg Johnson is perceived is simultaneously growing wider and converging. While he may be known for his improvisational prowess on the tenor saxophone in some places, he may be known for his big band, concert band or even orchestral writing in others. Northern California knows him as the director of Jazz Studies at the renown Marin School of the Arts.

In February of 2019, Greg's hand-picked big band came together to play at an intimate club in Oakland's, California. Members came from New York, Los Angeles and from around the San Francisco Bay Area.
